A Legal Entity is any entity that has legal rights and responsibilities from a payroll perspective. The legal entity information such as trade name and address will appear on pay stubs and tax forms. TimeTrex supports more than one Legal Entity.

To add a new Legal Entity:

  • Click Company, then click Legal Entities.
  • Click New in the button bar.
  • Complete the fields and click the Save button.

FIELD DESCRIPTION
Status Select a status for the legal entity.
STATUSDESCRIPTION
ActiveThis entity is an active business.
Closed This entity is no longer an active business.
Type The business structure of the legal entity such as partnership, corporation etc.
Classification Code The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) classification code for this legal entity.
Legal Name The full legal, registered name of this entity.
Trade Name The name under which this entity does business, other than the legal name. Often referred to as "doing business as" or "dba".
Start Date (Optional) The date this legal entity began business.
End Date (Optional) The date this legal entity ceased business.
Logo Upload an image file containing the legal entity logo.
