Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are a business metric used to evaluate specific factors for employee reviews which can help evaluate and compare employees to each other.

Some possible example KPIs for a performance review may be "Does the employee effectively solve problems?" or "Does this employee exhibit leadership qualities in the roles he plays in the company?"

To view available KPI's, do the following:

  • Click HR, then click KPI in the main menu.
  • If you see a large list of KPIs, use the Search Panel feature to narrow the results.

To edit a KPI:

  • Select a KPI and then click Edit in the button bar.

  • Make the changes.

  • Click Save in the button bar, or click Cancel to exit.

To add a new KPI:

  • Click the New button in the button bar.

  • Choose the Type, select a Status, enter the name for the KPI and assign it to a Group.

  • Click Save in the button bar, or click Cancel to exit.

FIELD DESCRIPTION
Type Select the Type of the KPI from the drop-down box.
TYPEDESCRIPTION
Scale RatingNumeric rating between some specified minimum and maximum value, for example 1 to 10.
Yes/NoSimple Yes or No.
TextFree form text.
Status Select the Status of the KPI from the drop-down box.
STATUSDESCRIPTION
Enabled (Required)Required to always be filled out.
Enabled (Optional)Available, but optionally filled out.
DisabledNot available to be used in new reviews.
Name A short name for the KPI that will be displayed on the review.
Display Order Maintains the specific order KPI's are displayed when assigning them to Reviews.
Group The group that the KPI will be assigned to. KPIs are added to reviews by the group that they are assigned to, so you may have a different group for each type of review.
Minimum Rating When the type is a Scale Rating, this is the minimum value of the rating.
Maximum Rating When the type is a Scale Rating, this is the maximum value of the rating.
Description Detailed description to help the reviewer if they don't understand the KPI by its name.
