Job Vacancies

Job Vacancies is where the hiring manager or a supervisor can create a record of an available job vacancy or job posting that an applicant can then apply for the job. Adding a job vacancy is the first step in the process of using the recruitment module.

To add a job vacancy, do the following:

  • Click Recruitment, then click Job Vacancies in the main menu.
  • Click New in the button bar.
  • An inset page will appear which contains the tabs, Job Vacancy and Attachment.
  • Complete the fields.
  • Click Save to save your changes or click Cancel to discard.

To preview a selected Vacancy or job posting on the Recruitment Portal, click the Jump To drop-down box and select Portal Preview. Portal Preview is only available for job postings or vacancies with Pending Applicants or Interviewing Applicants status and external availability.

FIELD DESCRIPTION
Status Select a status from the drop-down box.
STATUSDESCRIPTION
Pending ApplicantsWaiting for applicants to apply for the job.
Interviewing ApplicantsIn the process of interviewing applicants.
Closed (Not Filled)The vacancy was not filled and is closed.
Closed (Filled)The vacancy was filled and is closed.
Name Enter a name for the job vacancy.
Title Select the employee title of the vacancy that is going to be filled from the drop-down box.
Availability Select an availability from the drop-down box.
AVAILABILITYDESCRIPTION
Internal OnlyAvailable to applicants within the company
External OnlyAvailable to applicants outside of the company.
Internal and ExternalAvailable to applicants either within or outside of the company.
Employment Status Select an employment status from the drop-down box.
EMPLOYMENT STATUSDESCRIPTION
Full TimeFull time employment
Part TimePart time employment
Per DiemPer day (casual) employment
Type Select a type from the drop-down box.
TYPEDESCRIPTION
EmployeeVacancy is for a regular employee or the vacancy doesn't fit into any other type of option.
Temp/ContractVacancy is for a temporary or contract employee.
InternVacancy is for an intern.
SeasonalVacancy is seasonal.
StudentVacancy is for a student.
ApprenticeshipVacancy is an apprenticeship.
ThesisVacancy is for an applicant working on a thesis.
StatutaireVacancy is regulated or authorized by a statute.
Level Select a level from the drop-down box.
LEVELDESCRIPTION
StudentVacancy is at a student level.
EntryVacancy is for entry level applicants.
ExperiencedVacancy is for experienced applicants.
ManagerVacancy is for applicants at a manager level.
ExecutiveVacancy is for applicants at an executive level.
Senior ExecVacancy is for applicants at a senior executive level.
Branch Select the branch the vacancy is assigned to from the drop-down box.
Department Select the department the vacancy is assigned to from the drop-down box.
Hiring Manager Select a hiring manager from the drop-down box.
Positions Available Type in the number of positions available for this job vacancy.
Position Open Date Date the position becomes open.
Position Expiry Date Date the vacancy for this position closes.
Wage Type Select a wage type from the drop-down box.

Salary (Weekly)Paid weekly

Minimum Wage Enter minimum wage range for the position.
Maximum Wage Enter maximum wage range for the position.
Description Enter the job posting or a full description of the job vacancy that the applicant will view.
