TimeSheet Authorizations

EMPLOYEE PROFILE MENU >   TimeSheet Authorizations

The timesheet authorization process is performed by a superior, within the window of time defined in the Timesheet Verification criteria, by default, after a pay period ends and prior to the employee being paid (pay period transaction date). The purpose of this process is to verify that the record of time worked for a subordinate employee during a particular pay period is correct. TimeSheet Authorizations may not be necessary depending on the Timesheet Verification criteria that is defined.

To perform the Timesheet Authorization process:

  • Click on the drop-down arrow at the far right side of the header bar to open the Employee Profile Menu, then click TimeSheet Authorizations.
  • Select a request authorization in the list and click View in the button bar.
  • Choose one of the following options for each timesheet:
Authorize

Click Authorize in the button bar to accept the timesheet as correct. If necessary, make any changes to the timesheet first by clicking on the Jump To button.

Pass Click Pass in the button bar to review the timesheet later, perhaps to wait for corrections to be completed.
Decline Click Decline in the button bar to deny the timesheet as is.

After choosing any of the three options, the next pending timesheet authorization on the list will be displayed automatically.

NOTE:  If changes to a timesheet are made after it has been verified or authorized, the authorization is cleared and the employee must re-verify the new changes to their timesheet.
NOTE:  Once a Timesheet Authorization is authorized or declined it cannot be deleted, in an effort to maintain valid audit logs.

The relationship between a supervisor and employee is determined by the hierarchy settings.
