Request Authorizations

EMPLOYEE PROFILE MENU >    Request Authorizations

The request authorization process is performed by a supervisor who views pending employee requests, makes the necessary changes requested and authorizes the request, or chooses to pass, or decline the request.

To perform the request authorization process:

  • Click on the drop-down arrow at the far right side of the header bar to open the Employee Profile Menu, then click Requests Authorizations.
  • Select a request authorization in the list and click View in the button bar.
  • Make any necessary changes to the fields.
  • Choose one of the following options for each request:
Authorize After viewing and deciding to act upon the request, the supervisor must first perform the requested action and then click Authorize in the button bar to accept the request.

For example, if an employee submits a schedule request to take two weeks off for vacation, the supervisor clicks the Jump To button, then Schedule and makes the necessary changes to schedule the employee off, then returns to the request and clicks the Authorize button.

Pass Click the Pass button to review the request later. If more information or a clarification of the request is required the supervisor may pass on the request until further information is received.
Decline Click the Decline button to refuse the request. The supervisor may first choose to click Reply on the button bar, and send a message to the employee stating why the request was declined.

After clicking on any of the three options, the next pending request on the list will be displayed automatically.

NOTE:  Once a Request is authorized or declined it cannot be deleted in an effort to maintain valid audit logs. In a situation where an employee no longer wants the time off after the absence Request has already been authorized, the employee should submit a new Request to work during that same time. Once this new Request is authorized, the schedule status will change from Absence back to Working again and a valid audit log will be maintained.

The relationship between a supervisor and employee is determined by the hierarchy settings.
