Policies
TimeTrex is a policy or rule-based system. Therefore, there are many different policies that you can configure and assign to one or more employees with Policy Groups. If a specific policy does not apply to your organization, then you do not need to create it. TimeTrex can operate without any policies, or with several hundred policies assigned to different employees. Each type of policy will be explained under the specific policy topic.
Setting up policies in TimeTrex involves a multi-step process:
- Create essential fundamental Policy "Building Blocks" such as Pay Formulas, Pay Codes, Contributing Pay Codes and Contributing Shifts that policies may be dependent upon. You may not know which specific building blocks you need until you start defining some of the policies, therefore it may be necessary to return to and adjust these as needed. The following is an example of a policy dependent on specific building blocks:
- Overtime Policies are dependent on Contributing Shifts, Pay Codes and Pay Formulas.
-
Define applicable policies such as Regular Time, Overtime, Meal, Break, Premium, Recurring Holidays, Holiday, Accrual, Absence, Schedule, Exception and Rounding Policies.
-
Assign the defined policies to a Policy Group in conjunction with the employees that they will be applied to.
