Affordable Care Report (United States)

MAIN MENU >   Report > Tax Reports > Affordable Care

The United States Affordable Care Report provides hours of service and full-time equivalent (FTE) calculations, to determine if the employer must offer minimum essential health care coverage mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA uses the definition of 30 hours a week (or a total 130 hours per month) as full-time. To calculate the number of full-time equivalent employees the total number of hours of service (<than 120 /employee) for all part-time employees in a month is divided by 120. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) defines employers which have 50 or more full-time and full-time equivalent employees as Applicable Large Employers (ALE) and therefore must file Affordable Care Act Information Returns (AIR) to the IRS. This report ensures correct full-time and full-time equivalent employee counts for potential audits.
